April 2026 phone survey — Southern Trust is the standout
Of 325 NI general practices we phoned in April 2026, only 2 confirmed actively accepting new NHS patients — and both are in Southern Trust:
- North Street Dental Care, Lurgan (BT67 9AH) — also a Dental Access Scheme (DAS) participant
- Cathedral Quarter Dental, Newry (BT34 1AY)
Belfast, Northern, South Eastern, and Western Trusts each had zero practices confirm active acceptance during the same survey window. May 2026 update: 4 further practices initially appeared self-confirmed via the email dashboard, but a 29 May forensic review found those confirmations were almost certainly triggered by corporate email-security scanners rather than practice managers, so they have been moved to Contact to enquire pending direct verification. The Southern Trust pair (North Street, Cathedral Quarter) therefore remain the only NI practices independently verified as currently accepting new NHS patients.
